Puppies, puppies, puppies. . . everyone loves a puppy. What makes them even more loveable is training to help their humans with those common puppy behaviors. Puppy Kindergarten focuses on help with house-training, destructive chewing, jumping, digging, nipping or mouthy playing, resource guarding, and separation anxiety. In addition, your puppy will begin puppy manner exercises including focus, leash walking, sit, down, stay, and come when called. Additionally, puppy classes facilitate social interaction with other puppies and humans in a controlled environment. Puppy Kindergarten is for all puppies and young dogs beginning at age 10- 12 weeks up to 6 months. Puppies must have current vaccines and a clean vet check before beginning class.
We encourage all graduates of our Puppy Kindergarten to enroll in our Basic Manners Class. Of course, dogs who did not complete Puppy Kindergarten are also welcome to enroll. This class is for dogs 4 to 6 months of age through adulthood. Basic manners encompasses focus exercises, sit, stay, down, come when called, leave-it, loose leash walking, sit-stay, down-stay, and more. Basic Manners, as the name suggests, includes the behaviors our dogs need to have to become valued members of our homes.
Intermediate class is open to all dogs ages 6 months through adulthood. Intermediate class is for dogs who have good manners but need some reinforcement of those manners. In addition, Intermediate class strengths and lengthens the behaviors learned in Basic Manners Class. Additionally, new cues are added such as heel, heel and stay, wait and boundary or cross lines (to teach dogs to stay in certain areas of the yard or not to dart out the door when opened.) Further reinforcement of come when called is also taught as it is one of the most important cues you can teach your furry friend.
Life skills class reinforces all behaviors/cues taught in the other classes and works to strengthen the human/dog bond. Additionally, it gives the opportunity to learn new ways to keep your dogs active and healthy and to stimulate their minds as they age.
We also offer a variety of private lessons that cater to each dog because each dog is different!
